The Bush administration is bound and determined to attack Iran, igniting a powder keg of war throughout the world. As war drums begin pounding on Capitol Hill, they will be matched with a media blitz spreading anti-Iranian hysteria and disinformation.

To demonstrate how the U.S. will justify another illegal invasion, Gen. Leonid Ivashov, vice president of the Academy on Geopolitical Affairs, wrote:

“Within weeks from now, we will see the informational warfare machine start working. The public opinion is already under pressure. There will be a growing anti-Iranian militaristic hysteria, new information leaks, disinformation, etc.... The probability of a US aggression against Iran is extremely high.

“It does remain unclear, though, whether the US Congress is going to authorize the war. It may take a provocation to eliminate this obstacle (an attack on Israel or the US targets including military bases). The scale of the provocation may be comparable to the 9/11 attack in NY. Then the Congress will certainly say 'Yes' to the US president.”

Furthermore, Bush has made it clear he has authority to attack Iran with or without Congressional approval by conveniently attaching Iran to the authority already given by Congress to attack Iran. A dead giveaway to the Bush strategy became apparent when he recently declared Iran was a threat because its military was killing U.S. troops in Iraq.

With Bush’s approval ratings at an all-time low, listen to what some Americans are saying about our war mongering President.
